A Pretty Good Year

Hey everyone! Just got home from another great weekend, this one in Whitehorse, YK – a pretty sweet town if you ask me! I was there for Breakout West and the Western Canadian Music Awards and had a great weekend seeing a bunch of awesome showcases and meeting tons of great musicians, producers and industry peeps. And guess what? I WON for Aboriginal Recording of the year! I gotta say, it was a great weekend.

This comes on the heels of winning Best Folk Recording of the Year at the Nammy’s (Native American Music Awards) – totally unexpected! Also just found out last week I’ve been nominated for Aboriginal Songwriter of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards in TO in December…

Add that to the four(!) nominations at the APCMAs (Aboriginal People’s Choice Music Awards) for Male Entertainer of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Best Country CD and Best Music Video and…sweeeeet! We’ll see how those turn out in a couple of week’s on November 4th, here in Winnipeg.

That’s 7 nominations and 2 wins this fall! What a year it’s been.
Just wanted to give a big shout out to you all for supporting me, without your encouragement and support, who knows where I’d be.
Hope to see you around sometime this fall!

-Don
